Bakken surprised Svendborg in the opening game of the title series. Svendborg was trailing by 14 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-19 charge of Bakken, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Chris Christoffersen (218-79, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) answered with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Svendborg.
