There was no surprise in Rosh Pina where 12th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-17) was defeated by eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (10-12) 87-74 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-74. American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 15 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Dudu Shamriz (191-91) scored 18 points. Galil Gilboa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Ironi Ashkelon lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost.
