Regular Season Round 25: Clavijo - Lobe Huesca 65-79

Everything could happen in Logrono at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Lobe Huesca and 7th ranked CB Clavijo had identical 10-14 record. But CB Clavijo was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Huesca 79-65 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Lobe Huesca. CB Clavijo was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lobe Huesca made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Lobe Huesca outrebounded CB Clavijo 33-16 including a 24-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St.) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian guard Sandi Cebular (196-86) chipped in 16 points. Center David Mesa (202-80) produced 8 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) added 13 points and 6 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lobe Huesca (11-14) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caceres and Forca Lleida. Loser CB Clavijo dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Lobe Huesca will face FCB Regal II (#12) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. CB Clavijo will play on the road against Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo.
