Quimper UJAP managed to secure a 4-point victory 96-92 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Monaco. Monaco was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Quimper UJAP made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side Serbian forward Milutin Aleksic (203-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (205-85, college: Purdue) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Quimper UJAP and five Monaco players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP maintains seventh place with 16-12 record, which they share with La Rochelle. Newly promoted Monaco keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Cognac. Quimper UJAP will meet higher ranked Blois (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monaco will play against the league's leader Orchesien BC having rather not much hope for a victory.
