Regular Season Round 27: Nancy - ASVEL 94-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nancy, where higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (15-12) lost to fourteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (10-17) in a road game 79-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Sluc Nancy. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was better in fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Ivorian point guard Souleyman Diabate (183-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. Naturalized Ivorian forward Herve Toure (202-82) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. Nigerian power forward Uche Nsonwu-Amadi (208-78, college: Wyoming, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Paccelis Morlende (189-81) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Sluc Nancy maintains fourteenth place with 10-17 record. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Sluc Nancy's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Poitiers (#16) on the road.
