Regular Season Round 23: AGOR - Ikaros 68-66

Sixth-ranked Ikaros (11-12) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked AGOR (15-8) in Rethymno. AGOR managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ikaros. Ikaros was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 20-10 third quarter run of AGOR. American forward Brent Petway (204-85, college: Michigan) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four AGOR players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Danny Gibson (180-84, college: S.Indiana) added 16 points in the effort for Ikaros. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AGOR maintains fifth place with 15-8 record. Ikaros at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. AGOR will play against KAOD (#9) in Dramas in the next round. Ikaros will play at home against Ilysiakos in Athens and hopes to get back on the winning track.
