There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Chieti (13-17) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Latina Basket (12-18) 74-68 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chieti won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Tommaso Milani (190-88) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was the former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Serbian forward Marko Micevic (198-89) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Latina Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixteenth place with 12-18 record. Chieti at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Latina Basket will face higher ranked Mirandola (#15) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
