A very close game took place in Venezia between Juvecaserta and Umana Venezia. Ninth ranked Juvecaserta (13-14) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Umana Venezia (14-13). Juvecaserta managed to escape with a 3-point win 88-85 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Umana Venezia. Four Juvecaserta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Alvin Young (188-75, college: Niagara) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Timothy Bowers (188-82, college: Mississippi St.) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Umana Venezia's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juvecaserta have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 13-14 record. Loser Umana Venezia keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Juvecaserta will meet at home Air Avellino (#10) in the next round. Umana Venezia will play against Montepaschi Siena and hope to secure a win.
