Regular Season Round 26: Upea CdO - FCM Ferentino 87-95

There was a minor upset in Capo d'Orlando where 10th ranked Upea CdO (10-15) was defeated by thirteenth ranked FCM Ferentino (9-15) 95-87 on Sunday. Upea CdO trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 31-26 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 87-95 at the end of the game. FCM Ferentino forced 24 Upea CdO turnovers. American-British forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Argentinian point guard Marcos Casini (188-80) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists during the contest. FCM Ferentino's coach Franco Gramenzi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American guard Donte Mathis (190-77, college: Texas St., agency: Two Points) scored 16 points. Five FCM Ferentino and four Upea CdO players scored in double figures. FCM Ferentino moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with AcegasAps TR. Upea CdO lost third consecutive game. Upea CdO at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. FCM Ferentino will face Prima Veroli (#14) at home in the next round.
