Regular Season Round 25: Pau Orthez - Roche 58-64

Another exciting game for Roche (11-10) which played on the court of 4th placed Pau Lacq Orthez (13-8). Seventh ranked Roche won 64-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pau Lacq Orthez won fourth quarter 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Roche dominated on the defensive end, holding Pau Lacq Orthez to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Pau Lacq Orthez 42-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Johana Tayeau (173-89) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Christelle Morel (181-83) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Roche's coach Emmanuel Body allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese forward Awa Gueye (182-78) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Roche. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Reims. Newly promoted Pau Lacq Orthez keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with LTB 29. Roche will play against Laveyron (#9) at home in the next round. Pau Lacq Orthez will play against Reims (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
