No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tuscany Pistoia (18-7) smashed at home 10th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (10-15) 92-72 on Sunday. The game without a history. Tuscany Pistoia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) added 13 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tuscany Pistoia maintains second place with 18-7 record having just -8 point less than leader Sigma Barcel. Loser Fileni BPA Jesi keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Tuscany Pistoia will face C.de Latte BRE (#4) in Brescia in the next round. Fileni BPA Jesi will play at home against Pall.Trento (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
