Sixth-ranked Biancoblu BO (13-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked Sigma Barcellona (19-7) on Sunday. Sigma Barcellona managed to secure only three-point victory 100-97. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Biancoblu BO. Biancoblu BO was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Sigma Barcellona, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-13. Sigma Barcellona made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game, while Biancoblu BO only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Biancoblu BO 42-30 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Craig Callahan (203-81, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Jobey Thomas (194-80, college: Charlotte) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Ghanian guard David Cournooh (188-90) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and American center William Mosley (202-89, college: Northwestern St.) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Biancoblu BO at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Sigma Barcellona will face Upea CdO (#11) in Capo d'Orlando in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Biancoblu BO will play at home against LeGamberi Foods Forli (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
