The most exciting game of round 15 in the CIBACOPA took place in Ciudad Obregon. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (6-7) to fifth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (6-7) 71-70 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon 45-26 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. American-Cameroonian guard Mahmoud Abdul-Awwel (196-84, college: Arizona) helped adding 9 points and 15 rebounds. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: Dream Team Management) with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) scored 18 points. Fuerza Guinda Nogales moved-up to third place, which they share with Obregon. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon will play again at home against Fuerza Guinda Nogales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
