Regular Season Round 36: Omegna - Recanati 68-64

Date: April 27, 2013
Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Omegna (19-14) beat at home 12th ranked Recanati (15-18) 68-64. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Recanati won third quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Omegna made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Recanati turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Christian Villani (200-82) who led his team to a victory with 13 points. Guard Andrea Saccaggi (192-89, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (193-82) added 20 points in the effort for Recanati. Omegna have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Castelletto. Recanati at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Omegna's next round opponent will be Treviglio (#8) on the road where they are favorite. Recanati will play against Mirandola (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
