Regular Season Round 16: Obregon - Nogales 66-78

The biggest surprise of round 16 in CIBACOPA was guest Fuerza Guinda Nogales' (#3) road victory over Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (#4) 78-66 on Saturday evening. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-13 charge of Fuerza Guinda Nogales, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales outrebounded Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) fired 26 points for the winners. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: Dream Team Management) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Luis Pulido (188-85, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains third position with 7-7 record having five points less than leader Guaymas. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Cananea and Navolato. Fuerza Guinda Nogales are looking forward to face Garra Canera de Navolato (#6) at home in the next round. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon will play against the league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
