Regular Season Round 36: Agrigento - Lucca 71-66

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Lucca (17-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Agrigento (19-15) 71-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lucca won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Agrigento won last quarter 14-10. It was a good game for the former international center Roberto Chiacig (210-74) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (196-85) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Davide Parente (188-83) replied with 22 points and Riccardo Casagrande (196-88, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Lucca. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to fifth place. Lucca at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Agrigento will have a break next round. Lucca will play at home against Reggio Calabr. (#10) in Reggio Calabria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
