Important game to mention about took place in Mirandola. Fourth ranked Castelletto (19-14) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 12th ranked Mirandola (15-19) 87-86 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mirandola. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mirandola won third quarter 21-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Castelletto won last quarter 28-29. Mirandola was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alexander Simoncelli (188-86, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Castelletto players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 6 assists by point guard Jordan Losi (182-80) did not help to save the game for Mirandola. The former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (196-80, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Castelletto moved-up to third place, which they share with Omegna. Newly promoted Mirandola dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Castelletto will play against Bari (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mirandola will play against Recanati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
