Regular Season Round 30: Nancy - Le Mans 83-68

There was an upset when higher ranked Le Mans (16-14) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (12-18) 83-68 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sluc Nancy. Le Mans was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Jamal Shuler (191-86) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian power forward Joao Paulo Batista (207-81, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sluc Nancy maintains fourteenth position with 12-18 record. Le Mans lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost.
