Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Peristeri GS (6-19) was outscored by fifth ranked AGOR (16-9) in Rethymno 101-76 on Tuesday. The game without a history. AGOR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Peristeri GS turnovers. Strangely Peristeri GS outrebounded AGOR 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. AGOR looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) contributed with 17 points and 5 steals for the winners. American forward Jonathan Mitchell (200-87, college: Rutgers) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nontas Papantoniou (190-90) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Peristeri GS. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AGOR maintains fifth place with 16-9 record. Peristeri GS lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. AGOR will face bottom-ranked Kavala (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Ilysiakos.
