Everything went according to plan when third ranked Panathinaikos (19-4) defeated 10th ranked Kolossos (8-17) in Athens 93-77 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. American-DR Congolese power forward Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83, agency: FCM) added 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Kolossos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos moved-up to second place. Kolossos at the other side keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost. Panathinaikos will face PAOK (#4) in Thessaloniki in the next round. Kolossos will play at home against Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki.
