Very expected game when 14th ranked VL Pesaro (10-20) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Air Avellino (13-17) 93-80. The game was mostly controlled by Air Avellino. VL Pesaro was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Air Avellino dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to VL Pesaro's 28. They outrebounded VL Pesaro 35-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) supported him with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Air Avellino's coach Gianluca Tucci allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 31 points by Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) did not help to save the game for VL Pesaro. American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 22 points. Air Avellino moved-up to ninth place, which they share with JuveCaserta and Vanoli CR. VL Pesaro at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost.
