Regular Season Round 30: EA7 Armani - Enel Brindisi 94-89
Date: May 5, 2013
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Armani Milano (19-11) beat at home 12th ranked Enel Brindisi (11-19) 94-89. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Armani Milano forced 21 Enel Brindisi turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Enel Brindisi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Alessandro Gentile (198-92) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and the former international Nicolo Melli (205-91) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 8 assists by American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for Enel Brindisi. International swingman Jeffrey Viggiano (198-84, college: Massachusetts) added 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Armani Milano have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 19-11 record. Enel Brindisi lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 19 games lost.
