Rather expected game when 13th ranked Blancos de Rueda (12-21) lost to tenth ranked Blusens Monbus (17-16) in Valladolid 79-93 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Blusens Monbus. Blancos de Rueda was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Blancos de Rueda 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Tunisian center Salah Mejri (217-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Canadian-Irish forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nacho Martin (205-83) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American-Irish forward Ian O'Leary (201-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Blancos de Rueda. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Blusens Monbus moved-up to ninth place. Loser Blancos de Rueda dropped to the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Blusens Monbus will face higher ranked Gescrap BB (#6) in Bilbao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blancos de Rueda will play on the road against G.Canaria 2014 (#7) in Las Palmas.
