Very important is a home loss of second ranked Caja Laboral (25-8) against twelfth ranked Asefa Estudiantes (15-18) on Sunday night. Host Caja Laboral was defeated by Asefa Estudiantes in Vitoria 90-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Caja Laboral. The game was mostly controlled by Asefa Estudiantes. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Asefa Estudiantes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Italian-Argentinian Andres Nocioni (199-79) with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asefa Estudiantes maintains twelfth place with 15-18 record. Caja Laboral at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Asefa Estudiantes will play against higher ranked FIATC Joventut (#11) in Badalona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caja Laboral will play on the road against CB Canarias (#10) in Tenerife and hopes to get back on the winning track.
