Budivelnyk outscored Azovmash in the first game of the title series in Kyiv tonight. Azovmash was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Budivelnyk, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Azovmash helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Lithuanian forward Dainius Salenga (197-77) stepped up and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds.
