CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (20-5) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (8-15) 112-93. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Rayos de Hermosillo made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) who scored 18 points, 9 assists and 6 steals. American forward Kyle Spain (196-87, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures.
