Rayos de Hermosillo's coach Dan Tacheny felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) added 15 points respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Four Rayos de Hermosillo and five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-6 record. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side keep the third position with 13 games lost. They share it with Nogales.
