Regular Season Round 32: Obregon - Los Mochis 75-72
Date: May 25, 2013
A very interesting game took place in Ciudad Obregon. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (9-19) to seventh ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (11-17) 75-72 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-16. But Pioneros Los Mochis won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: Dream Team Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Raul Navarro (192-84) supported him with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon's coach Eduardo Opezzo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) did not help to save the game for Pioneros Los Mochis. His fellow American import center Tyrone McNeal (213) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 11-17 record. Pioneros Los Mochis lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
