An interesting game for Ostioneros de Guaymas (22-7) which played road game in Tijuana against 3rd placed Tijuana Zonkeys (14-15). Second ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas managed to get a 4-point victory 87-83. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-83. It was a good game for the former international forward Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) contributed with 17 points and 9 assists for the winners. American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) added 15 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Tijuana Zonkeys. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas maintains second place with 22-7 record having five points less than leader Hermosillo. Tijuana Zonkeys lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. Ostioneros de Guaymas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tijuana Zonkeys will play again at home against the league's second-placed Ostioneros de Guaymas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
