Bottom-ranked Rio Claro (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to tenth ranked Pinheiros (2-4) 86-66. Pinheiros had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Steven Toyloy (203-87, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Jonathan Tavernari (198-87, college: BYU) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Rafael Stabile (-88) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Wanderson de Jesus (201-83) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rio Claro. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinheiros moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Limeira. Rio Claro at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Pinheiros' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paolo to the arena Paulistano.
