Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Vivo/Franca and 8th ranked Winner/Limeira had identical 2-3 record. But Winner/Limeira was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Sao Paulo 72-64 on Saturday night. It was a great shooting night for Vivo/Franca especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. American swingman Edward Basden (196-83, college: Charlotte) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Leonardo Meindl (200-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks and the former international point guard Helio Vitor Lima (184-81) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Vivo/Franca (3-3) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Liga Sorocaba and XV/Raizen. Winner/Limeira lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Vivo/Franca will face Jacarei (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Winner/Limeira will play against XV/Raizen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
