Regular Season Round 9: Palmeiras - Mogi das Cruzes 58-70

The biggest surprise of round 9 in Paulista was guest Mogi's (#2) road victory over Palmeiras (#3) 70-58 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Palmeiras. The best player for the winners was D Alemao who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (203-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Five Mogi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) who recorded 14 points and 5 assists and center Marcao Vinicius (205-84) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Mogi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-2 record behind leader Bauru. Palmeiras at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with S.Jose/Unimed and Paulistano. Mogi are looking forward to face Sao Jose/Vinac (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Palmeiras will play against XV/Raizen and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
