Important game to mention about took place in Sao Paolo. Sixth ranked Liga Sorocaba (8-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Paulistano (10-4) 82-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Paulistano. Liga Sorocaba made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Guard Guilherme Schneider (192-86) notched 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international center Guilherme Hubner (209-87) supported him with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Liga Sorocaba players scored in double figures. Liga Sorocaba's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 29 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Desmond Holloway (190-90, college: Co.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Paulistano. His fellow American import point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) added 14 points for the hosts. Liga Sorocaba moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Palmeiras. Paulistano at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Mogi das Cruzes. Liga Sorocaba will play against Pinheiros (#7) in Sao Paolo in the next round. Paulistano will play at home against the league's leader Paschoalotto/Bauru (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
