The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Palmeiras' (8-7) road loss to fourth ranked Mogi (11-4) 71-76 on Thursday. It was a great shooting night for Mogi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (203-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Guilherme Filipin (191-83) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Caleb Brown (182-89, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Duran International) with 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import Antwaine Wiggins (200-88, college: Charleston, agency: Two Points) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mogi. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Paulistano. Loser Palmeiras keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Pinheiros/Sky and Liga Sorocaba. Mogi will meet league's second-placed Sao Jose/Vinac on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Palmeiras will play against the league's leader Paschoalotto/Bauru and hope to secure a win.
