Regular Season Round 2: St Vallier - Denain 84-87

A very close game took place in Saint Vallier between Denain Voltaire and Saint Vallier. Top-ranked Denain Voltaire (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over bottom-ranked Saint Vallier (0-2). Denain Voltaire managed to escape with a 3-point win 87-84 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Saint Vallier was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-18 charge of Denain Voltaire, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Denain Voltaire's coach Fabrice Courcier used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Denain Voltaire and five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures.
