Regular Season Round 3: Lille - Chalons-Reims 75-91

Very expected game when Lille Metropole (0-3) was defeated at home by Chalons-Reims (3-0) 91-75 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Chalons-Reims. Lille Metropole was better in second period 31-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalons-Reims dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lille Metropole's 40. Chalons-Reims looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward John Turek (206-83, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Rodrigue Mels (190-85, college: CS Northridge, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 27 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Chalons-Reims' coach Nikola Antic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Ivan Almeida (197-89, college: Stonehill) who recorded 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and Finnish Ville Kaunisto (205-82, agency: Court Side) added 15 points and 15 rebounds respectively.
