Regular Season Round 1: IK Eos - Malbas 87-89
Date: September 28, 2013
And what about another game where Malbas beat IK Eos 89-87 on the road. IK Eos were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. It was a key game for the top position in the league. 27 personal fouls committed by IK Eos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Alexander Nilsson (209-90) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Australian guard John Fitzgerald (193-84, college: Lindsey Wilson) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Gustav Nystrom (190-89, college: Hope) answered with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and FYR Macedonian-Icelandic forward Jovan Zdravevski (198-80) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for IK Eos. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Malbas went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with 4 other teams. IK Eos at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
