Regular Season Round 1: Eskinstuna - Visby 62-71

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Eskinstuna (0-1) against tenth ranked Visby Ladies (1-1) on Sunday night. Host Eskinstuna was defeated by Visby Ladies in a tough game in Eskilstuna 62-71. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Visby Ladies outrebounded Eskinstuna 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Nya Jordan (183, college: Michigan) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Slovakian forward Simona Podesvova (186-83) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds. Center Helena Lundberg (183-89) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Amelie Nilsson (176-90) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Eskinstuna in the defeat. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Visby Ladies left bottom position moving up to second place. Newly promoted Eskinstuna still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Solna Vikings. Visby Ladies will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eskinstuna will play against the league's leader Norrkoping Dolphins (#1).
