No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Vivo/Franca (10-9) beat 10th ranked Winner/Limeira (5-14) in Sao Paulo 70-58 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Vivo/Franca. Winner/Limeira managed to win fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Edward Basden (196-83, college: Charlotte) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Vivo/Franca moved-up to seventh place. Winner/Limeira lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Rio Claro. Vivo/Franca will meet at home higher ranked Liga Sorocaba (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Winner/Limeira will play against XV/Raizen (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
