Regular Season Round 2: Tromso - Froya Basket 68-83

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Tromso (1-1) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Froya Basket (1-1) 83-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-68. Forward Halvor Gulliksen (194-88) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Hamad Mostafa (196-86) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris) scored 22 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Froya Basket left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tromso. Froya Basket will meet at home bottom-ranked Sverresborg (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Tromso will play against the league's second-placed Gimle BBK (#2) in Bergen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
