Regular Season Round 4: Haga Haninge - Talje 82-81

Date: October 6, 2013
Very expected game when bottom-ranked Talje Knights (0-2) were edged on the road by sixth ranked Haga Haninge (2-1) 82-81 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-21. But Talje Knights won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ibrahim Marong (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Leonard Cooks (190-92) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Haga Haninge's coach Thomas Valtonen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side guard Sheriff Drammeh (186-96) responded with 19 points and Adam Ramstedt (206-95) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Haga Haninge moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Trelleborg. Loser Talje Knights still closes the standings with two games lost. Haga Haninge will face higher ranked Malbas (#3) in Malmo in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
