Regular Season Round 4: Toshiba BT - Toyota Alvark 96-84

Undefeated Toyota Alvark (3-1) recorded its first loss in Kanagawa on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Toshiba Thunders (3-1) 96-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Toyota Alvark managed to win second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Toyota Alvark's players. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. The other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Jeff Jeffrey (188-80, college: Otterbein) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Toyota Alvark. Toshiba Thunders is looking forward to face league's leader Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota Alvark will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
