Regular Season Round 3: La Rochelle - Cognac 70-63

Not a big story in a game when Cognac BB (0-3) lost on the road to La Rochelle (2-0) 70-63 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cognac BB won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. British forward Andrew Thomson (205-84, college: Catawba) accounted for 9 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) came up with 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American power forward Marcus Kitts (205-89, college: William & Mary) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Cognac BB in the defeat. Four Cognac BB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Rochelle will meet Saint-Brieuc on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cognac BB will play against Sorgues BC and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
