Regular Season Round 4: Fuerza Regia - Gansos 97-63

Bottom-ranked Gansos (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-63 loss to eighth ranked Fuerza Regia (2-1) in Monterrey on Tuesday evening. The game without a history. Fuerza Regia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gansos to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gansos' 32. Fuerza Regia forced 22 Gansos turnovers. Gansos were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Paul Hernandez chipped in 22 points. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. International Oscar Perez (205-85) produced 20 points and American CamRon Clay (203-82) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fuerza Regia will face Lechugueros in Leon in the next round. Gansos will play at home against the league's second-placed Pioneros and look forward to get finally their first victory.
