Regular Season Round 1: KFI - Njardvik 98-106

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of KFI (0-1) in Isafjordur. Hosts were defeated by Njardvik (1-0) 106-98. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KFI won third quarter 30-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KFI was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) nailed 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) accounted for 23 points and 6 assists. Four Njardvik players scored in double figures. American guard Jason Smith (183-83, college: Al.-Huntsville) came up with 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Mirko Virijevic (201-81, college: Freed-Hardeman) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for KFI in the defeat. Njardvik will play against Valur (#12) in Reykjavik in the next round which should be an easy win for them. KFI will play on the road against Keflavik (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
