Not a big story in a game when Slask 2 Wroclaw (0-2) lost at home to GTK Gliwice (2-0) 72-65 on Saturday. Slask 2 Wroclaw trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 19-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 65-72 at the end of the game. GTK Gliwice outrebounded Slask 2 Wroclaw 34-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Emil Podkowinski (194-88) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Maksym Kulon (190-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jakub Niziol (198-96) added 14 points in the effort for Slask 2 Wroclaw. Slask 2 Wroclaw's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GTK Gliwice will face Cieszyn (#5) at home in the next round. Slask 2 Wroclaw will play against Sudety (#9) in Jelenia Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
