Very predictable result when top-ranked La Rochelle (3-0) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Saint-Brieuc (0-4) 70-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-58. La Rochelle forced 20 Saint-Brieuc turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Romain Malet (191-84) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and point guard Samir Mekdad (188-86) who added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Lithuanian Aurimas Adomaitis (206-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 5 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jimmy Lupot (190-83) scored 8 points. Saint-Brieuc's coach Denis Mettay rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Rochelle have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Saint-Brieuc still closes the standings with four games lost. La Rochelle will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
