Regular Season Round 5: Boulogne - Orchy 83-95
Date: October 12, 2013
The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated SO Maritime Boulogne (4-1) in Boulogne-sur-Mer on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixteenth ranked Orchesien BC (2-3) 95-83. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of SO Maritime Boulogne. The game was mostly controlled by Orchesien BC. SO Maritime Boulogne managed to win third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orchesien BC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SO Maritime Boulogne's 30. American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Court Side) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and his fellow American import guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) chipped in 23 points. Orchesien BC's coach Philippe Namyst used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Greek Angelo Tsagarakis (190-84) scored 19 points. Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. Orchesien BC moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 6 other teams. SO Maritime Boulogne at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Chalons-Reims and Fos Ouest. Orchesien BC is looking forward to face higher ranked Denain Voltaire (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against the league's second-placed Chalons-Reims (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
