Regular Season Round 3: MKS DG - AZS PP 86-69

MKS DG used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Poznan 86-69 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by MKS DG. AZS PP managed to win third quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when MKS DG won last quarter 27-12. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. MKS DG outrebounded AZS PP 44-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for center Piotr Zielinski (200-83) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Michal Woloszyn (201-84) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four MKS DG players scored in double figures. Center Adam Metelski (206-83, college: Cal-Irvine) came up with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and Michal Szydlowski (197-87) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for AZS PP in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. MKS DG will meet Sokol Lancut (#7) on the road in the next round. AZS PP will play against Stal Ostrow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
