Regular Season Round 5: Souffel - Poitiers 62-66

Everything could happen in Souffel. at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Poitiers and 9th ranked Souffelweyersheim had identical 2-2 record. But Souffelweyersheim was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Poitiers 66-62 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Souffelweyersheim won fourth quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Souffelweyersheim was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Justin Ingram (189-85, college: Toledo, agency: Two Points) chipped in 24 points. Swingman Jessie Begarin (190-88, agency: Court Side) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (203-88) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Souffelweyersheim's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Poitiers (3-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Poitiers will face bottom-ranked Lille Metropole (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Souffelweyersheim will play against Saint Vallier (#16).
